Education & Training
Dialogue and Inquiry Certificate Program (DICP)
DICP empowers faculty, staff, learners, and healthcare professionals to lead with empathy, cultural humility, and critical consciousness. Participants explore how to engage across difference, respond to bias, and foster more effective communication—transforming everyday interactions into opportunities for deeper connection and systemic change for the better.
Dialogues on Opportunity
Dialogues on Opportunity offers one-hour learning experiences for faculty, staff, learners, and healthcare professionals seeking to strengthen communication and critical thinking skills. Each stand-alone session focuses on practical tools for engaging across difference, responding to bias, and communicating more effectively, empowering participants to foster more inclusive, respectful, and connected environments across UCSF and beyond.

Fostering Awareness Speaker Series
The Speaker Series aims to foster empathy, overcome prejudice, and engage in meaningful dialogue across divides to enhance UCSF’s community climate. Each year, Community Engagement and Dialogue brings speakers to UCSF who illuminate, inform, and help us build a stronger UCSF. Live Q&A segments allow participants to connect directly with speakers and topics.
Guest speakers: UCSF endeavors to create greater understanding and supports the exchange of diverse ideas. Views and opinions of speakers on campus are their own and may not reflect the perspective of the University.
