Unlearning Anti-Blackness in the Asian American Pacific Islander Communities

Kim Tran, PhD, a global equity strategist for grassroots and transformative justice organizations including the National Center for Lesbian Rights and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative will present this webinar that aims to provide participants with in-depth relevant knowledge about Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Black American solidarity and history of antagonism in order to build tools to create belonging. Here are some topics that will be covered during the webinar:

  • How Asian Americans have a brave & meaningful conversation around race
  • How anti-Black racism manifests in Asian American families, communities and culture
  • Basic context and knowledge of anti-Black racism at the institutional, interpersonal, and individual level.
